Oxford researchers are asking, “Why pop a pill when you can flip a chip?” and the answer could mark the end of those disturbing television commercials for male enhancement drugs. Although currently in the early stages of development, scientists are optimistic that a chip inserted to stimulate the brain’s pleasure centers could turn millions of “Not now, honeys” into “Where are the honeys?” Stimulation of the orbitofrontal cortex creates pleasure from both sex and eating, so perhaps the safer and healthier alternative would be creating an orgasm-inducing carrot.
