Celebrity Helps Girl Injured in Prom Night Accident

Here's a 'ying and yang' of life story.

Jessica Biel and unidentified donors raised a terrific sum of money for an injured teen who had been injured on prom night.

We all know the dangers of prom night partying and the number of accidents that happen each year. The saddest thing to me is that this young lady was doing the right thing -- she and her friends had rented a limo so that no one would drive drunk.

Sometimes doing the right thing doesn't ensure the right result.

I'm grateful to people like Jessica Biel and her donors who use their resources to help people with genuine need.

Consumer groups urge "do not track" registry

WASHINGTON (Reuters) - Two consumer groups asked the Federal Trade Commission on Tuesday to create a "do not track list" that would allow computer users to bar advertisers from collecting information about them.

The Consumer Federation of America and the Consumers Union also urged the FTC to bar collection of health information and other sensitive data by companies that do business on the Internet unless a consumer consents.

The call echoed those of other privacy advocates who filed statements with the FTC on Internet companies' use of "behavioral advertising." That is the practice of tracking a computer user's activities online, including Web searches and sites visited, to target advertisements to the individual consumer.

Learn to Dance with your Cat

Here's a new one. I thought it was a joke, but apparently not. There are books, coaches and classes on how to dance with your cat. I'm a cat fanatic and consider my siamese as a kid, but teaching him to dance with me just makes me laugh and laugh.

Anyone out there tried this or know someone who has? If so, please comment. I'd love to hear about it!!!!

How
do I find a cat dancing class?

Even though it has a
long history, cat dancing is relatively new to today's world, so
you may have to ring around a bit before you find a dance studio
that will offer cat dancing classes in your area. While the array
of dance studios may differ in the classes they offer or the types
of dance movement they emphasize, their natural enthusiasm for dance
as an energizing process will enable all of them to provide cat
dancing classes if they want to.

What
should I look for in a cat dancing tutor?

Obviously you want a
dance instructor who has a cat, has spent time dancing with it and
knows how to help others interact with their cats through the dance.
Often dance instructors who are familiar with Pilates, Feldenkrais,
Tai Chi or Yoga may be more sensitive to the energy aligning aspect
of cat dancing and it may be useful to aim your initial inquiries
in that direction.

What
can I expect from a cat dancing class?

Cyberdyne Producing Robotic Suit for Disabled

TOKYO (Reuters Life!) - A Japanese company is developing a robotic suit that could help people with diseases such as muscular dystrophy move their limbs again, local media reported.

Cyberdyne Inc's new lab in Tsukuba, Ibaraki prefecture, plans to produce 400-500 such suits each year starting from October, targeting consumers as well as clinics, Kyodo news agency reported on Wednesday.

Sensors in the suit pick up weak brain signals that ripple through the surface of the wearer's skin to their muscles.

The sensors then activate the suit's arms and legs, which are attached to the wearer's limbs, Kyodo said.

Known as HAL, or hybrid assistive limb, the suit can also be used to assist workers performing heavy manual work and comes with a rechargeable 100-volt battery pack that powers the suit for about two hours and 40 minutes, the agency added.
